Also known under earlier names, such as the Governor’s Palace or the Palace of the Council of Ministers, it is one of the most recognizable monuments of the capital. Its monumental architecture, consisting of the main body and two side wings, is integrated between the Divine Lieutenant Church and the historic Bristol Hotel.
Currently, the palace plays a key role as a place for making state decisions, diplomatic meetings and representing the country to the world. Since its takeover in 1994 as the official residence of the president, the building has become a symbol of democratic power and continues its rich tradition as a place of historic events and meetings of the highest-ranking political figures.
Interestingly, it was in the Presidential Palace that Fryderyk Chopin played his first concert.

We have much to boast about on the international stage. Our Polish presidential palace is a dignified and now subdued home for the Ukrainian head of state, precisely as it should be. Beautiful, majestic, functional without unnecessary pomp, with a touch of history visible through the fence, so that from a distance you can see the president himself getting into his car.

You can't park on the envelopes next to the palace if you have a parking card and someone in a wheelchair. It's strange, I didn't feel like arguing with security. But unfortunately, that's how it works in Poland.

Impressive architecture: The palace features an elegant Neoclassical façade, making it one of the highlights of the historic Royal Route. Rich history: Built in the 17th century, it has witnessed major events in Polish history, including the signing of the Warsaw Pact in 1955 and the 1989 Round Table talks that helped lead Poland toward democracy. Wikipedia +1 Excellent location: Situated on Krakowskie Przedmieście, it's within walking distance of the Royal Castle, Old Town Market Place, and many churches, museums, and cafés. Great photo opportunity: The palace's grand entrance, ceremonial guards, and the equestrian statue of Prince Józef Poniatowski make for excellent photographs. Things to know Interior access is very limited because the palace is an active government building. Most visitors admire it from the outside, except during occasional public open days or special events. Nomads Travel Guide +1 A visit typically takes 15–30 minutes unless you're exploring the surrounding Royal Route.Posted on Google

The Presidential Palace in Warsaw, located on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, is one of the most important representative buildings in Poland. Although it currently serves as the official residence of the President of the Republic of Poland, its history dates back to the 17th century and is closely linked to the history of Warsaw and the political elite of the Republic. Initially, the palace was built as a magnate residence of the Koniecpolski family. Over the following centuries, it was rebuilt numerous times and passed into the hands of various aristocratic families, including the Radziwiłłs, who endowed it with particular prestige and grandeur. In the 19th century, during the period of the Kingdom of Poland, it became the seat of administrative authorities and the residence of tsarist governors, giving rise to the name "Governor's Palace." In the 20th century, the building played a significant role in the history of reborn Poland. After Poland regained independence, it hosted numerous state events, and after World War II, despite the destruction of Warsaw, it was relatively quickly rebuilt and reincorporated into the capital's public life. Since 1994, it has served as the official seat of the President of the Republic of Poland. One of the palace's most distinctive features is its classicist façade with a columned portico, which gives the building a monumental, representative character. State ceremonies, changing of the guard ceremonies, and official visits by foreign delegations often take place in front of the entrance. The palace's interior also holds significant symbolic significance – it is where laws are signed, and where councils and meetings of the highest state authorities are held. Among the most famous spaces is the Column Hall, the site of numerous historic speeches and political events. Interestingly, in front of the palace stands a statue of Prince Józef Poniatowski, who over the years "watched" the changing governments and regimes, becoming a symbolic guardian of this place. Despite its official function, the palace itself remains one of the most visually accessible buildings in central Warsaw – thousands of people pass it daily on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. Today, the Presidential Palace is not only the workplace of the head of state but also a key symbol of Polish statehood, combining the history of an aristocratic residence, the partitioning administration, and the modern state in a single, representative building of the capital.

When we ask for opinions about the Presidential Palace, the perspective changes drastically depending on whether we look at it through the eyes of a tourist, an architecture enthusiast, or through the prism of contemporary socio-political emotions. Here's how Poles and tourists rate this place: 🏛️ Architectural and tourist perspective (Most reviews: Very positive) In guidebooks and on websites like TripAdvisor, the Presidential Palace receives almost exclusively high marks. Visitors note: A postcard landmark of Warsaw: It's hard to imagine a stroll along the Royal Route without a photo at the distinctive gate, in front of which stand stone lions and the monument to Prince Józef Poniatowski. Magnificent illumination: The palace receives excellent reviews for its appearance after dark. It is very cleanly and professionally lit, which, combined with the Polish Army guard of honor, makes a strong impression, especially on foreign tourists. Maintenance and aesthetics: Everyone agrees that the building and its surroundings are impeccably maintained – the facade is clean, and the lawns and vegetation in the courtyard are perfectly trimmed. 🛑 Main complaints from tourists (Cons) Lack of accessibility: This is the most common complaint. Many people feel dissatisfied that such an important and beautiful building can only be viewed from behind high, iron fences. An ordinary tourist off the street has no chance of entering the courtyard, let alone the interior. Rigorous security procedures: If someone does manage to sign up for an organized tour (e.g., with a school trip or during an open day), the security checks (like those at an airport) can be burdensome for some. Socio-Political Perspective (Opinions: Extremely Divided) For residents of Warsaw and across Poland, the Presidential Palace is not just a monument, but above all a symbol of state power, which means that opinions about it can be highly charged with emotion: A Place of Demonstrations: Regardless of who currently holds the office of president, the square in front of the palace is a traditional site for protests, demonstrations, opposition demonstrations, and anniversary celebrations. For some, it is "the heart of Polish democracy and freedom of speech," for others – a place too closely associated with political disputes and noise. Architecture of Power: Some Warsaw residents ironically consider the palace, fenced off by barriers and guarded by the police, a symbol of the distance between the government and the citizenry. Others, however, believe that the dignity of the office requires such strict protection and solemnity. In summary: As a historic building and a feature of Warsaw's landscape, the Presidential Palace is viewed as delightful – a classicist gem on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. As an institution, it arouses exactly the same emotions as the political scene in the country.

Inside the Presidential Palace: I had the opportunity to attend the ceremony of awarding the titles of Belweder Professor by President Karol Nawrocki. A few words about the organization—honest, without sugarcoating. The first part, the wait for the ceremony to begin, revealed logistical weaknesses: too few chairs, which was particularly burdensome for the elderly, an insufficient number of coffee machines for the scale of the event, and an excessively long wait in the freezing cold at the entrance. These are drawbacks—fortunately, easily remedied. The award ceremony itself was a definite plus: excellent logistics, efficient organization, time for group photos, and an excellent speech by the President addressed to the academic staff. No clichés, no political platitudes—simply a person-to-person conversation. I regret that public television stations did not broadcast this address in prime time. They should have. It's a small but telling symbol of the decline in standards over the past 30 years. In summary: despite minor organizational shortcomings that could be quickly corrected, the ceremony left a very good impression. We have a very good President. I have a strong feeling that he will not only be a good steward of the Presidential Palace, but also the man who will lead Poland through the coming geopolitical storms – safely and without loss.

The Presidential Palace in Warsaw serves as the official residence and office of the current Polish President and has been a crucial stage in the city's political history. Its history dates back to 1643, when it was originally built as a private palace by the nobleman Konstanty Sobieski. After numerous changes of ownership and renovations, it served as a noble residence, the residence of the Russian Governor-General, and the offices of the independent government. It was not until the end of World War II that it was officially designated the "Presidential Palace of the Polish Republic." 🏰 The building's exterior features a neoclassical style, with majestic symmetry and towering stone columns. The soft light at night creates a particularly magnificent effect. The atrium houses the famous bronze statue of Joseph Poniatowski on horseback (the one you just saw), a symbol of Polish courage and honor. The internal conference hall, reception room and red carpet stairs are elegant and solemn, and many international heads of state hold formal ceremonies here when visiting Poland.

The Presidential Palace, located at Krakowskie Przedmieście 46/48, is the representative seat of the President of the Republic of Poland and one of the most important monuments in the capital. Built in 1643 for Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski, initially in the Baroque style, modelled on Genoese residences, it was surrounded by gardens descending to the Vistula. Over the centuries, it changed owners: the Lubomirskis, the Radziwiłłs, it was a place for balls and meetings, and from 1818 - the seat of the governor of the Kingdom of Poland. Rebuilt then in the Classicist style by Christian Piotr Aigner, it gained a characteristic colonnade and a facade with sculptures. The first public concert of Fryderyk Chopin took place in the palace (1818). In the 19th century, it witnessed important political events, and in the 20th century, among others, the Round Table talks (1989). After the war, it served as the seat of the Council of Ministers, and since 1994 it has been the official residence of the President of the Republic of Poland. The palace was not destroyed during World War II, thanks to which it retained its original shape. In front of the building stands a monument to Prince Józef Poniatowski and stone lions from the 19th century.

I saw the Presidential Palace in Warsaw with my own eyes for the first time when I was in Warsaw. It is a large historic palace located on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street in the Śródmieście district of Warsaw. In front of the palace there is a monument to Prince Józef Poniatowski;)

The presidential palace in the heart of Warsaw. There is nothing spectacular here, just a palace like a palace. A large building with security at every turn, you can't even get closer. Nevertheless, it is one of the symbols of the city and an important place for Poles.

The building is located on Krakowskie Przedmieście. Very pretty, integrated with the rest of the building. Fenced off with chains. Nothing special to see really. However, it is worth stopping for a moment during a walk through the city and taking a few photos.

The Presidential Palace in Warsaw is an elegant residence with a rich history, the centre of Polish politics. Its classicist façade and representative interiors emphasise the importance of the building. It is an important place for the country, although access to the interiors is limited. A display and drill of the Polish army were also visible

There was already a palace in this place in the 17th century. It gained its current form at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. During the partitions, it was the seat of governor Józef Zajaczek, and after the January Uprising, a monument to Ivan Paskevich was unveiled in front of it. The palace survived the Warsaw Uprising in good condition and is one of the few original pre-war monuments. It is certainly one of the symbols of Warsaw.

The largest palace in Warsaw, with a representative function. It is the official seat of the President of the Republic of Poland. After Poland regained independence, the palace was the seat of the prime minister and government.

Impressive palace and very beautiful to admire. I have only seen it from the outside, I do not think you can visit from the inside but I am not sure. If possible, I recommend seeing it both with the lights and, at night, when it is illuminated.

When visiting Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, it's a must-see. It's a truly majestic structure—it's just a shame the gentleman sitting there has such a low IQ, as he clearly doesn't belong there... But things should be better in a few months—Poland—I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

The building is nicely integrated into the surrounding architecture, emerging inconspicuously from behind the tenement houses of the Krakow suburbs. The nice, subdued office building is worth seeing.

The Presidential Palace is located on Krakowskie Przedmieście. I saw it from the outside, it seemed to me that it would make a bigger impression on me, the easiest way to recognize it is here is by the monument of Józef Poniatowski on a horse. The most important thing is that wise and sensible decisions are made in the Palace 😁 . For me, it is only an addition to a walk and visiting other attractions in Warsaw. You can stop here for fifteen minutes, look, take pictures and move on.

The place makes an impression of dignity and seriousness, but at the same time it is too well integrated into the surrounding buildings. Approaching the Presidential Palace, you don't know exactly if it is already here, because the building itself appears so suddenly - nothing announces it in the form and architecture of the buildings. I definitely recommend going there.

Originally, it was a baroque palace built in the mid-17th century for the Grand Crown Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski. In subsequent years, the property was owned by the Lubomirski family, and then until 1818 by the Radziwiłł family, when the palace was purchased by the government of the Kingdom of Poland to serve as the seat of the governor of the Kingdom of Poland. In the years 1818–1819, the palace was thoroughly rebuilt in the classicist style, gaining, among other things, a new front elevation in the Corinthian order. The external decoration has survived without major changes to the present day. The building was the seat of the governor for only a short period. After the November Uprising, it lost its importance; until 1915, it housed, among other things, the offices of the Russian governor's administration. After regaining independence, in the years 1918–1939, the palace was the seat of the Council of Ministers and the Prime Minister, and after World War II, in the years 1945–1953, it housed the Office of the Council of Ministers. Since 1994, it has been the official residence of the President of the Republic of Poland.
